A Slimming World Consultant who has helped hundreds of people in Southport to lose weight and live healthier lives has had her name added to the wall of celebration at the Slimming World Head Office in Alfreton.
Dee Wright, 53 runs six classes to support people at her Southport Slimming World with Dee groups at St Simon and St Judes Church Hall on Old Park Lane in High Park in Southport every week.
She has supported many people to change their lives over the past 10 years.
Dee lost 6st 1lbs with Slimming World herself before becoming a self-employed Consultant in 2017, going from strength to strength in the years since.
She said: “Ten years ago, I dreamed of seeing my name on this wall – and this week it finally happened!
“My name is now on the wall at Slimming World Head Office!
“Ten years ago in December, when I trained to become a Slimming World Consultant, I had a dream that one day I would see my name up there on the walls of celebration.

“Every time I’ve returned for training or attended a National competition day, I’ve looked at those walls with hope, ambition and a belief that, one day, it could be me.
“And this week, standing there pointing at my own name, I had one of those moments when you realise just how far you’ve come.
“The dream I had is no longer a dream.
“It might have taken almost ten years, but what a journey it’s been. And the most wonderful thing? I’ve genuinely enjoyed the journey just as much as reaching this moment.
“Along the way, I’ve been incredibly proud to support members at four National Woman Of The Year Semi Finals and celebrate our Third Place National Greatest Loser achievement.
“I’ve stood alongside members, encouraged them to believe in themselves and reminded them that their dreams really can become reality.
“I’ve always hoped that by sharing my own ambitions, they’d see that it’s possible to dream big, work hard and achieve things they might once have thought were beyond their reach.
“And somewhere along the way, whilst helping THEM achieve their dreams, I was achieving mine, too.
“My dad has always said: ‘Enjoy the journey just as much as getting to the destination.’
“And my Dad is absolutely right!
“Because the real rewards aren’t just the awards, the recognition or seeing your name on a wall.
“They’re the lives changed. The confidence rebuilt. The friendships made. The tears of happiness. The targets achieved. The people who walk through our doors believing they can’t do it, then discover that they absolutely CAN.
That’s what it’s all about.
“To every member who’s been part of my last ten years, to everyone who has supported our groups, to our wonderful social team and to everyone who has cheered us on — thank you!
“Whether you’ve been with me from the very beginning, joined us along the way, are sitting in our groups right now or are yet to walk through our doors, you are part of the story of Slimming World Southport with Dee.
“Our achievements have never been mine alone. They are built on the commitment, courage, kindness and determination of the people who make our groups so special.
“And to those of you reading this who are thinking about joining us…
“Perhaps it’s time to start dreaming about what you could achieve.
“You don’t need to feel ready. You don’t need to have had a perfect week. You don’t need to wait until Monday or January.
“You just need to take that first step and let us help you with the rest.
“Our Diamond and Diamond again award-winning groups are here to welcome you, support you and help you discover what you’re capable of.
“Real people. Real food. Real results. Real support. Real friendships. And a place where you belong.
